InnerLok Fitment Guide

You are responsible for confirming that the specific InnerLok product you purchase is compatible with your equipment before installation or use.

Fitment can vary because of:

• Vehicle configuration
• Receiver size
• Hitch design
• Ball mount design
• Hitch-pin diameter
• Receiver and ball mount width
• Pin-hole location and alignment
• Coupler manufacturer and model
• Coupler dimensions
• Coupler latch design
• Inner and outer coupler geometry
• Adjustable hitch configuration
• Aftermarket components
• Manufacturing changes
• Wear, corrosion, deformation, or damage
• Previous modifications

Do not assume an InnerLok product fits solely because another vehicle, hitch, trailer, coupler, or ball mount of the same or similar make or model was compatible.

If compatibility cannot be positively confirmed, do not install or use the product. Contact InnerLok or a qualified towing professional before use.

InnerLok manufactures multiple security products for different hitch and coupler configurations. Products that appear similar may have materially different fitment requirements.

Select the exact product designed for your application.

Gooseneck couplers vary substantially in construction.

Differences may include:

• Round versus square tube
• Tube dimensions
• Wall thickness
• Adjustment-pin diameter
• Adjustment-hole spacing
• Coupler-head geometry
• Ball-latching mechanism
• Internal cavities
• Automatic versus manual latch systems
• Cushioned or torsion designs
• Offset designs
• Aftermarket modifications

A 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball size alone does not establish compatibility with an InnerLok gooseneck product.

Inner Coupler Locks operate within the coupler assembly and therefore depend on internal coupler geometry, not merely the external appearance of the coupler.

Internal dimensions, latch mechanisms, casting designs, reinforcement, and manufacturer revisions can affect compatibility.

For every InnerLok product, proper fitment requires all applicable conditions to be satisfied.

A product is not properly fitted merely because:

• It enters the opening
• The pin passes through one component
• The key turns partially
• The lock appears attached
• The vehicle or trailer appears on a general compatibility list
• A similar hitch or coupler has previously accepted the product
• The hitch, receiver, or coupler uses the same nominal size

The product must fully insert, properly seat, completely engage, lock as designed, maintain required clearance, and be appropriate for the intended application.

If any condition is not satisfied, do not use the product.

Never alter an InnerLok product or towing component to obtain fitment unless the modification is expressly authorized in writing by the applicable equipment manufacturer and InnerLok.

Do not:

• Drill
• Grind
• File
• Cut
• Weld
• Bend
• Hammer
• Machine
• Enlarge holes
• Remove locking components
• Alter safety components
• Substitute hardware
• Use improvised spacers
• Force the product into position

A product that requires modification or force to install does not fit the application.

Compatibility with an InnerLok product does not increase or establish the towing capacity of the vehicle, receiver, hitch, ball mount, coupler, trailer, or other equipment.

Always comply with the ratings and instructions established by the manufacturers of the towing vehicle and towing components.

The lowest-rated applicable component controls the allowable towing capacity.

Never exceed an InnerLok product's stated rating or intended application.

Inspect the InnerLok product and applicable towing equipment.

Do not install or use the product if:

• Components are bent
• Components are cracked
• Locking surfaces are damaged
• Pin holes are excessively worn or enlarged
• Receiver or coupler is damaged
• Components are severely corroded
• Lock does not operate normally
• Product cannot fully seat
• Product cannot fully lock
• Unusual movement or looseness exists
• Required clearance is unavailable
• Equipment has been modified in a manner that affects fitment

When determining fitment, verify the actual equipment rather than relying solely upon a vehicle or trailer description.

Depending upon the product, InnerLok may request:

• InnerLok product model
• Vehicle year, make, and model
• Trailer year, make, and model
• Receiver manufacturer/model
• Receiver opening dimensions
• Ball mount manufacturer/model
• Pin-hole diameter
• Receiver and ball mount width
• Coupler manufacturer/model
• Coupler tube dimensions
• Coupler latch type
• Adjustment-pin diameter
• Photos of the hitch or coupler
• Photos showing relevant measurements
• Information concerning aftermarket modifications

InnerLok may provide fitment guidance based upon information supplied by the customer. Customer-provided measurements, photographs, descriptions, equipment identification, or other information may be incomplete or inaccurate.

Guidance provided from customer-supplied information does not replace proper installation and inspection of the actual equipment.

If you cannot positively determine that the product:

1. Is the correct InnerLok model for the application;
2. Matches the required dimensions and configuration;
3. Fully inserts and properly seats;
4. Completely engages and locks;
5. Has adequate operating clearance; and
6. Can be used according to all applicable instructions and ratings;
